KL city tour
Since I had talked about shopping in the wonderful city of Kuala Lumpur in my last post, I thought why not do a post on its city tour!! The reason why I have started with Kuala Lumpur all of a sudden is quite funny. I was watching the latest season of Asia's next top model on fox traveller last week. This is the second season which has been shot in Ritz Carlton KL. Watching this reality show made me fall in love with this vibrant city all over again and reminded me of all the wonderful times I have spent here exploring with my parents!!
Our day started with a hearty breakfast at our hotel. Then we got into our bus which took us to our first stop, Royal Palace or Istana negara where the Malaysian king lives. Built in 1928, it was originally the residence of a Chinese millionaire. After Malaysia achieved its freedom, the federal government bought it and converted it into King's Palace.
The next stop was the National Monument which was built in the honour of the freedom fighters of malaysia, just like our India Gate. The place was beautiful with prim gardens and blue waterbodies.
Among the other stops were a chocolate factory, Merdeka square, national museum etc.
The best part of our tour apart from those amazing places was our guide,Danny. He was not only intelligent but very funny and witty. About our fellow travellers , some were very annoying and kept on delaying our pick up.Nonetheless I still have very fond memories of that day!!
