the old fort of Delhi....

by - August 19, 2013

It was an usual hot summer Sunday afternoon. Going out during weekends is our ritual but that week it was different. I had just recovered from viral fever; and I neither had the energy for a small trip nor it was recommended. So I was just sulking in my home. After I was done with cooking and having lunch, hubby decided to perk up my mood (which is not very often :p). He offered to take me to the Old Fort of Delhi. The sun was scorching but the idea of sulking in an air conditioned home was outdone by the thoughts of perspiring in the heat outside. After all, I am Miss Sunshine :D

As soon as I nodded in affirmation, hubby quickly traced the path from google earth. I got ready in a jiffy and so was he; and in no time we were zooming our way to the Old Fort.

How many times have I mentioned that I just love Delhi for the equal mix of heritage and modernization?? Well I once again profess my love for this city and will keep on doing so. The Mughals did a great job in constructing so many interesting and lavish structures in North India which continue to attract tourists from all over the world. From Taj Mahal to Sikandra to Red Fort, these places are all UNICEF heritage sites and I just love visiting them!! The Old fort is one of them!!

the first view of the fort...the lake behind me...

the main entrance of the fort...

the long line up of the ruins...

an old world amphitheatre...

hubby seems happy sitting on the stone steps...

a prisoner's style stint :D

perched high up...

a mosque inside the fort...

finally a pic of both of us...

Hence I reached the conclusion that falling sick did not prove to be that bad after all.....sometimes cancellation of something good brings up even something better. :D

  24. The most popular Taj Mahal Tours are in include Taj Mahal Tour by car and by Superfast Express Gatimaan Express. Thus on one day Agra tour from Delhi, you can visit the iconic Taj Mahal with Agra Fort. You can also spend time on lunch and shopping. Visit the Taj Mahal Tours is considered one of the best Agra tour packages. If you want a leisure Agra holiday package, spend 1 night in Agra you can visit another World Heritage Monument Fatehpur Sikri.
